Talent Match mentor Nicola Lawler saw a need for confidence boosting sessions with young mums in her client group. She set about bringing together a range of bespoke activities and speakers together as part of a six week course called “Wonderful Me” to enable the young mums to increase their confidence.
Last week saw the first of these sessions take place at the Liverpool Watersports Centre.
“Today was first session on wonderful me young mums confidence course. It was team building session and the objective of the day was to get all the ladies to mix into different groups, engage with each other and to feel comfortable in each others company for the coming weeks. They began with ice breakers initiating trust (dropping into each others arms back wards) which is very hard.
They built a raft from 6 logs of wood, 4 barrels and, rope, and then sailed on this raft as a team. They also did kayaking, trampolining and lots of other fun stuff. The young mums thoroughly loved it!”
The programme will continue over the next few weeks and it is hoped it will prove successful and Talent Match will then be able to run it again and potentially on a bigger scale in the future.
