Community Youth Support Worker (South City Cressington Beechwood Gardens)

Salary: £14,143 - £15,917 (Pro Rata) – JNC Pt. 1-4

Hours: 6 per week (Will Include Evenings, Possible Weekend and Residential Work)

Fixed Term Funded to 31st December 2013

The candidate will be required to work in the Cressington Beechwood Gardens Estate, delivering youth and community activities for the local community. The successful candidate will work face to face with young people aged 8-25yrs, with a 60% focus on
11-19 years old.

Youth work will include centre based and outreach/detached work to help support the local community to develop capacity to engage young people in consultation and needs led provision.

Disabled Children & Young People’s Youth Worker

Salary: £9.72 per hour – JNC Pt. 7

Hours: 9 hrs Per Week 
3 x 3 hours per week over 3 evenings (Will Include Possible Weekend Work)

Fixed Term Funded to 31st March 2014

The post holder will work within a staff team at the Disability Equality Project to engage disabled children and young people aged 7-25yrs into youth provision across the City. This includes supporting disabled children and young people to access informal education opportunities and developing inclusive opportunities.

The candidate must hold a recognised qualification to at least to NVQ Level 3 in a subject relating to young people and must have experience of working with disabled young people

OUTREACH YOUTH WORKER x 2 (South City)

 Salary: £17,697 - £19,636 (Pro Rata) – JNC Pt. 7-10

Hours: 9 per week (Will Include Evenings and Possible Weekend Work)

The successful applicant will assist in the delivery of a responsive and flexible streetwork service engaging young people within the South City area who are at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour, in offering them an alternative mainstream provision.

The South City Outreach Project aims to deliver youth work with young people to raise their aspirations and encourage them to reach their full potential.

Candidates must hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a subject relating to young people.

Trainee Peer Music Mentor

 Salary: £7.77 Per Hour – JNC Pt. 1

Hours: 6 per week (Will Include Evening and Some Weekend Work)

Fixed Term Funded to 31st December 2013

The successful candidate will work within a staff team on the MYA Music project to support young people aged 13-25 years through a range of music based activities and targeted music programmes. The mentor will support the development of the young people and support the growth of new groups engaged on the music programme.

The successful applicant must have musical experience and/or experience of working with young people in a youth or similar setting.
