Who Are We?

MYA Training Academy offering a Career Progression Programme.

What is the Career Progression Programme about?

It is a yearlong course covering the following qualifications:
• BTEC Level 1 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Personal and Social Development
• BTEC Level 1 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Vocational Studies
• BTEC Level 1 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Work Skills
• Maths, English and ITQ at Level 1

12 qualifications in total!

Plus many other training opportunities such as Safeguarding Training and Leadership Skills Training.

The Btec qualifications develop personal, transferable and employment skills that can be transferred to any industry.

Is this project for you?

This excellent course is open to people who are 16-18 years of age, are not in education, employment or training and wish to gain worthwhile qualifications. Our course may be suitable for anyone that left school within the past couple of years and did not go onto training, education or employment- or did secure a place and has since dropped off. It is a safe, inclusive, nurturing environment and we offer lots of support and opportunities to explore things that interest you.

How can I get involved?

We can usually start you one a course any time, but luckily for you we are now recruiting. Give us a ring or pop into The Door and we will have a chat with you and get you started.

Where is the project?

The sessions are based at Merseyside Youth Association on Hanover Street.

What is on offer?

A chance to learn in a laid back but purposeful environment and to gain up to 12 nationally recognised qualifications and certificates at level one!

Stand Alone qualification in Functional Skills Maths Entry level to Level 1 offered
Stand Alone qualification in Functional Skills English Entry level to Level 1 offered
OCR ITQ qualification at level one in ICT

The chance to become involved in lots of exciting projects and activities at MYA and through partner organisations.

What are the aims and objectives of the project?

To offer our learners the opportunity to gain the skills and qualifications to enable them to really progress.

We do his by applying youth work ethics to education. Our staff team is made up of qualified teachers and qualified youth workers but we create an environment that young people choose to engage in.

What’s on and when?

Career Progression Programme 16 to 18 course operates Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 10.00am to 4.00pm.

What illustrates the achievement of your project?

MYA have Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ and are an approved exam and accreditation centre for all major exam boards.

We have had phenomenal success over the past few years and are very proud of what the young people we have worked with have achieved.
