Who we are?

We play a co-ordinating role in the development of Participation within the CAMHS Partnership which currently consists of:

  • ADHD Foundation
  • Alderhey (NHS Foundation Trust) Children’s Hospital
  • Barnardos Action for Young Carers
  • PSS Spinning World
  • YPAS

MYA employs a Participation Worker enabling the engagement of children and young people within services, giving them a voice and a platform to effect change.

What are the aims of the project?
  • To include children and young people in all aspects of CAMHS planning, delivery  and evaluation
  • To gather views of children, young people and parents/carers regarding CAMHS
  • To support CAMHS in Liverpool with regard to participation
  • To facilitate and support a network  of children, young people and parents/carers who have experience of CAMHS in Liverpool
  • To improve outcomes for children, young people and parents/carers with regard to participation
Who is the project for?
  • Children and young people up to the age of 18 who have had experience of Liverpool CAMHS
  • Parents and carers of Children and young people with experience of CMHA
  • Liverpool CAMHS providers
What is the project impact?
  • Improved , more young person friendly services
  • Empowered children and young people with increased knowledge, skills and confidence
  • A website ( which is a source of  information and support for children, young people, parents/carers and professionals in relation to mental health.
Where and when does it take place?

We work with young people both at our main building in Hanover Street but also at Venues convenient for the young people such as Partner’s work base or community venues.

There are meetings/workshops approximately monthly with children young people brought together for specific activities

Mini and larger events are organised in consultation with young people throughout the year.
