Who are we?

Talent Match is a is an exciting, creative programme, driven by young people for young people, which will develop real skills for real jobs and meet the demands of both young people and employers. We will challenge young people to become motivated and inspired, building on their existing skills, knowledge and interests.

We will provide an accessible and flexible programme which is easy to navigate for young people, partners and providers.

What do we do?

All young people will be assigned an Intensive mentor, who will undertake initial assessments and will develop a personalised pathway for each young person. We will utilise a unique personal development tool kit to enable you to identify your own” golden ticket” for the future and  creating a blend of working learning, playing and giving pathways to turn ideas into action. Intensive Mentors will provide continued support once young people are in work to ensure smooth transitions and early intervention on any issues that arise. Your mentor will also have access to various types of support and opportunities, including;

  • Therapeutic support (counselling/anger management etc)
  • Substance misuse support
  • Housing issues
  • Confidence and motivation
  • Personal development activities including residentials
  • Employability and Practical skills
  • Work and volunteering placements
  • Business start up support
  • Post employment support

We will improve access to employment, training and FE via the delivery and via employer engagement, encouraging the provision of more meaningful employment opportunities.

Our Employer Engagement Coordinator will develop an Employer Engagement Strategy and mentors will work with young people and the employers to match opportunities, recognising both sets of needs.  This will be underpinned by the core partnership, supporting the mentors to build relationships within the labour and skills market.

Our Intensive Mentors will provide continued support once young people are in work to ensure smooth transitions and early intervention on any issues that arise. The aim is to support sustained employment for young people.
