As we approached the Millennium the final stages were underway and to assist the smooth transition of such a move an Operations Group was formed. This group planned the move extensively and it was thanks to their hard work and commitment that we were able move into our new premises in November 2000!

For the next 10 years, MYA went from strength to strength under the initial guidance of Steve Long who took over as Chief Executive in 2000 to 2004. Gill Bainbridge took over the reins in May 2004 and continues to drive the Association forward today! Both Chief Executive’s have been heavily supported by strong Chairs of the Board of Directors, Nick Ellis 1999 – 2009   and Andrew Gibbons (2009 to present). Together with the Board of Directors, all who have given their time and commitment freely, this team has ensured the development of the Association into the 21st century.

MYA grew and developed as both a direct deliverer of services to young people and as an infrastructure support organisation.  By 2010 MYA employed over 100 staff and had a turnover of £3.1 million, supporting over 11,000 young people a year.
