Youth Work

Within the youth work extended team we offer a mixture of generic and specialist services, such as 4 detached youth work projects, which work with young people on the streets within their communities (in North Liverpool, Anfield, Garston, Penny Lane and St Gabriel’s ward Knowsley).

Anfield Detached Youth Work Project

The Youth project contacts young people through street based youth work methods in the Anfield area. Through street contact young people are able to build a relationship with the youth workers and through discussion they can express their needs and aspirations.

Garston Grassendale Detached Youth Project or the GGDYP

Detached youthwork contacting Young People wherever they hang around and offering informal education opportunities including residential experiences.

Choices - Carer's Grant

The Choices Project is free service were we provide 6 residential breaks a year for disabled young people aged 7-19 who live within Liverpool. We work with groups of up to 10-15 young people at a time.

Choices - Children’s Fund

The Choices Project is a free service who work with disabled young people aged 5-13 who go to school within Liverpool.

SPLICE / Disability Equality Project

The aim of the project is to enhance existing quality youth work provision through promoting inclusive programmes and developing an awareness of the issues surrounding disability.

Disability Advisory Council (DAC)

The DAC team promotes the social model of disability and therefore works towards creating opportunities for disabled young people to participate in mainstream services.

The Voices in Partnership Team

The Participation team delivers a Quality Award to services working with young people based on their levels of participation. We have a team of young people who are participation assessors aged 13 – 19, who grant services with the award.

Halewood Youth in Community Centre

These services include pre-school breakfast club, parent and toddler sessions, out of school club, holiday playscheme provision, and senior youth work sessions.

Penny Lane Connect

PLC youth project contacts young people through outreach streetwork in the Aigburth/Allerton/Calderstones and Penny Lane area of Liverpool, and we have a base at one of Liverpool’s Secondary schools, Calderstones High.

Merseyside Voluntary Sector Support Project

The project seeks to help the voluntary youth sector strengthen the infrastructure within their organisations or projects so that the services young people receive are enhanced.

North Liverpool Outreach Project (N.L.O.P.)

The N.L.O.P. project contacts young people from various areas who are socially excluded economically deprived and young people who are or have offended.

UNITE Project

The UNITE project works throughout Liverpool, Sefton, and Knowsley and facilitates the formation of a series of inclusive playgroups that will work across both the voluntary sector and statutory services. The project provides a holistic approach in delivering inclusive play provisions that build on the philosophy of inclusion and therefore breakdown existing barriers that may be in communities.
